Ever partied on Independence Day with dozens of American writers and friends on a barge on a river in Paris at the foot of Notre Dame? Join us to celebrate America’s literary legacy! Enjoy drinks including special literary cocktails, American-style nibbles, programs all day and evening with notable American authors, and an Open Mic in the evening (7:30-9pm). Everyone welcome.

- 3 to 4:15 pm – First round-table: American women writing the world. With:

- Molly Lou Freeman, Alaskan poet and essayist widely published in the U.S. and France;
- Yara Zgheib, Lebanese-born award-winning author of three novels as well as poetry collections and musical collaborations;
- Monique El-Faizy, journalist and author with a forthcoming book on Gisèle Pelicot;
- Jehan Jones, author of ten children’s books, leader of the Culture and Education team at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, and a U.S. diplomat for 23 years.
Moderated by Cherilyn Parsons, writer and founder of the Bay Area Book Festival, Berkeley, CA.
- 4:30 to 4:50 pm – Poetry reading by American authors. With:
- Jennifer K. Dick, author, translator, teacher, & co-founder of Ivy Writers Paris Readings & Écrire l’Art (French residency, Mulhouse);
- M. Colón-Margolies, American/Puerto-Rican writer, editor, and translator.
- 5 to 6:15 pm – Second round-table: 250 years of writing in the United States: what’s next? With:

- Janine di Giovanni, American-born and world-renowned war correspondent with nine books (memoir, history/analysis, forthcoming novel); founder and CEO of The Reckoning Project;
- Martin Gelin writes for The Guardian, Foreign Policy and Dagens Nyheter, has published seven books on foreign affairs and is the president of the Anglo-American Press Association in Paris;
- Madeleine Schwartz, journalist, editor-in-chief of The Dial, and editor of the new book How We See It: The World Looks at America in the Age of Trump.
Moderated by Phineas Rueckert, international investigative journalist and Features editor at SOUVENIR Magazine.
